I believe that the the executive Branch should be able to listen in on electronic conversations from all conversation. The PATRIOT Act (Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism) was founded after the 2001 terrorist attacks, possibly due to emotional tension, and possibly persuasion. The act, summarized, gives the Judicial Branch unlimited power when pursuing terrorist, ending current terrorist plots, or preventing terrorist plots. The Act has been reauthorized twice, once in 2005 (Terrorism prevention reauthorization act of 2005), and again in 2006.
